Frequently Asked Questions

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a truly holistic approach to health and healing — one that puts the emphasis on the patients rather than the diseases. Homeopathy recognizes that each person responds uniquely to his or her illness and to the environment. The Classical Homeopathic Method seeks to discover the unique characteristics that mark each individual case of illness; in order to do so, a very thorough case-taking procedure essential.

A single homeopathic medicine is carefully selected after the initial case-taking (normally the first visit lasts from 1.5 – 2.5 hours) and is based on the symptom similarity to the characteristics of the patient and his or her illness. The similarity of the remedy and symptoms presented allows the homeopathic remedy to touch the deep root of disease and allows the body’s innate healing abilities to take over. Since homeopathy acts upon the constitution as a whole, people who become well through homeopathy also finds improvements in their overall health and wellbeing.

Jennifer is registered with new Ontario College of Homeopaths so ask your insurance if they are covering.  Many providers are now covering basic homeopathic services

The Homeopath will then take all the information obtained during the initial 2 hour intake and carefully research and study which remedy will be most appropriate given the totality of the symptoms presented incorporating the whole person in the prescription; physical, mental and emotional symptoms.

After this time you will be asked to return for follow up appointments every 4-6 weeks to carefully monitor your health complaints and the action of the remedy as well as its appropriateness to the case. The longer the patient is on the remedy the less follow ups are required and after a few months on the same remedy follow-up visits will be fewer and farther between.

Homeopathy works very subtly and the changes are permanent resulting in cure and not a mere covering up of symptoms. The individual remedy will be helping with all of your presenting concerns at the same time.
